FAQs

It’s natural to have tons of questions when considering leaving your beloved pet with a stranger for the first time. To help you, we’ve provided a list of questions we are frequently asked.

Are you insured?

Yes! We are fully insured through Pet Care Insurance Inc.

Are you CPR/First Aid Trained?

Yes! All our staff who have contact with your pets are required to take the RECOVER Initiative CPR/First Aid Course upon hiring. RECOVER CPR is the only official pet CPR certification recognized by the American

College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care (ACVECC) and the Veterinary

Emergency and Critical Care Society (VECCS).

Will I always get the same sitter, or will there be multiple people going in and out of my home?

Each of our clients are assigned a Primary Sitter We also have a Secondary Sitter. It will always be one of these two, with management being an emergency backup. Animals are less stressed when they are comfortable with the sitter entering their home and are much more likely to become bonded with those they see frequently. We pride ourselves on being an extension of family and want everyone as comfortable as possible.

What ages of animals do you service?

All of them! We love all ages, and we can help you find the right services for your needs.

Do you have breed restrictions?

Nope! We believe that animals are a product of their owners and their environments, whether current or past. We believe everyone deserves a chance. We offer a completely free, no obligation meet and greet before every service is started.

Do we only service dogs and cats?

Nope! We service birds, reptiles, fish, and plants.

What does an in-home overnight/housesitting look like?

Our overnight hours are from 8pm-8am, with drop-ins during the daytime. Our daytime visits are 30 minutes long. Animals are never left alone for more than 4-6 hours.

How will I know a visit was complete?

All of our walks and drop-ins are GPS/time stamped using the Time To Pet. Reports are emailed at the end of each visit.

Do you send pictures?

Absolutely! We know how hard it can be to be away from your pets and home so making sure you get to see their faces is one of our top priorities.

How often do we update you?

It's up to you and your sitter. You can ask us for updates as much as you'd like. We do our best to accommodate all requests. Walks and drop-ins get updates immediately following the visit.

Is it okay for me to tip?

Yes. We do not expect tips but do appreciate them! Your service provider receives 100% of all tips.

Do I have to have my animal up to date on vaccines?

Yes. We ask that all animals are up to date on vaccines. If they are coming to Snow's Cottage, they must also be on flea/tick and heart worm preventative. We also require stool samples every 6 months. This is nonnegotiable as we want to keep all pets and humans safe, healthy, and happy!
